Who Can Be a Member?
Membership is open to all registered Hearing Instrument Practitioners in British Columbia including registered dispensing Audiologists.
Member Profile
HIPSBC members are actively engaged in service to their fellow practitioners and to hearing-impaired individuals in their communities. They provide services for the testing, selection and fitting of hearing aids, as well as ongoing follow-up care and counselling.
Hearing Instrument Practitioners must pass provincial examinations and meet appropriate training requirements. Additionally, HIPSBC members are required to maintain their professional competency through continuing education. These criteria assure the general public that HIPSBC members are committed to meeting the highest standards of professional healthcare.
As a condition of membership, HIPSBC members must pledge to abide by the Society’s Code of Ethics. The Code sets standards of professional integrity and practice including relationships with patients, colleagues and the general public, as well as rules governing advertising. Adherence to these standards is required, and by violating any part a member is subject to removal from the Society
Fees
HIPSBC is excited to announce that the membership is now free for all hearing practitioners and students to join for 2024. Our registration portal for the free membership and the upcoming continuing education class is now live.
